Skin tags

Skin tags are common skin growth with resemble a small piece of soft hanging skin. The attachment is usually smaller than the body. They vary is size from  tiny bumps on the skin to the size of a marble. Skin tags are vital in nature and whilst not highly infectious they do seem to spread on certain individuals. Skin tags are commonly found in areas of friction for example around the neck, under the arms, chest, under the breast or in the groin area.

Thread veins 

Also known as broken capillaries, Teleangiectasia. Thread veins are small dilated blood vessels on the surface of the skin. We can only treat vessels on the face and neck. Blood vessels which are under 0.2mm in diameter usually look red. Sometimes a network of vessels has formed. Sometimes the vessels are so small that it’s hard to make each one out and the area just looks like a red or purple patch.

The skin has thousands of tiny blood vessels running through it. The blood vessels are so small they can’t normally be seen. Collagen supports the blood vessels in the skin, and if there is not enough collagen, tiny blood vessels become distended. Because of a drop in collagen, facial thread veins are a common sign of ageing of the skin. In fact, anything that breaks collagen down can give rise to thread veins on the face including too much sun exposure and smoking.

 

Spider naevi 

Spider naevi is a central dilated blood vessel with small capillaries radiating from it, like the legs of a spider, sometimes with a central vessel bulging out.

 

Blood spots

Also know as Campbell de Morgan or Cherry Angioma. Blood spots are bright red spots on the skin and appear flat raised or some shaped. They are shiny and red and can vary from the size of a pin head to a 50p. 


 

Xanthelasma

Xanthelasma is a condition characterized by yellowish, cholesterol-rich deposits that form on the eyelids or around the eyes. These deposits are soft and often appear symmetrically on both sides of the face. 

 

Seborrheic keratosis 

Seborrheic keratosis has a rough, dry, crusty surface and range in colour from light brown to mid brown to black. These growths can also be  slightly raised, with a waxy, scaly, or wart-like appearance. Seborrheic keratosis or senile warts occurs commonly on the trunk of the body, usually more than one. Cause is natural ageing, sun damage and hereditary reasons. 

 

Sebaceous Hyperplasia 

Sebaceous hyperplasia is a common non-contagious benign condition. It is an inflammation of the sebaceous glands. Lesions can be single or multiple and manifest as yellowish soft, small, papules on the face, particularly nose cheeks and forehead. They may appear as a milky yellow doughnut shaped lesion. 

 

Sebaceous Cysts

Sebaceous cysts are usually slow growing painless freely, movable lumps beneath the skin, varying insides from a small pee to a clench fist size or larger. Often arise from a swollen hair follicle. Skin trauma can also induce a form and genetic links can also be a factor in their appearance. A sac of cells is created into which protein called keratin is secreted. These cysts are usually found on the face, neck and trunk body

 

Milia 

Milia are small white spots that usually appear around the eyes cheats and eyelids and are simply a blocked port filled with a protein called keratin which hardens. The exact cause is unknown but they are often related to high cholesterol dietary oily skin skin high intake of vitamin C heavy creams and moisturisers lack of exfoliation.

 

Dermatosis papulosis Nigra (DPN)

DPN is a common condition consisting of one or many small dark pop skin lesions on the face and upper body which appear on darker skin types. Similar to a pigmented skin tag.

Plane warts

Plane warts are small coloured or pigmented blemishes very slightly raised often dry crusty flopped lesions which mostly appear can appear on the face, chest and hands.

 

Common warts 

Common warts are raised often with a rough dry crusty surface which resemble a very small cauliflower or a solid blister. Rough the touch, walls may feature a pattern of tiny black dots which are small clotted blood vessels. Common warts are viral and highly contagious and usually found on the hands but can be spread to other areas of the body.

Syringoma

Syringoma are non-contagious flesh coloured elevations of the skin. They are benign tumours of the eccrine sweat glands and mainly appear under the eye. Syringoma Usually develop on a skin type that has an oily complexion or found on skins that are often in a moist hot environment. 

 

Moles 

Moles are common skim blemishes which usually appear in the first few decades of life most moles very incise and colour and often developed terminal hair due to well developed with vascular but I’ll supply electrolysis is a safe effective method or visibly reducing the appearance of totally healthy moles and is only used for cosmetic physiological or physical purposes. No excision is made and nothing is sent away for investigation .

 

Ir will appear symmetrical round or oval in shape, the border will be sharp and well defined. It will be skin colour or one shade darker or lighter. The diameter is usually less than a quarter of an inch. Usually found on sun exposed skin such as face and limbs. Usually an individuals mole all look very similar.  

 

If a mole displays any significant change in size shape or colour or has symptoms of itching, irritating, burning, crust formation, ulceration or inability to heal, see your GP immediately
